INFRINGERS LOOKING FOR COLLABORATION

(if you would like to post something in this section, please contact jc@infringementfestival.com)

BRING YOUR OWN BOOMBOX PARTY LOOKING FOR PARTICIPANTS

The attendees will be encouraged to bring their own FM boombox or portable stereo thus making the sound system of the party modular and dependant on the number of active attendees.  The sound signal of the party provided by the scheduled lineup of performers will be broadcast over a short-range transmission (about a 50ft. range, 2 watts) to all the boomboxes in the vicinity.  The party could occur indoors or outdoors, depending on confidence in good weather.

POWER CONSUMPTION

This will be a central issue of the party, as each boombox will need its own power supply.  In the obvious absence of available AC outlets, batteries will have to be used.  This will be a discouraging factor for those who already are ambivalent about schlepping their vintage boombox over for an experimental party they don't know who's gonna show up to, so providing batteries might be the answer.

This could be done through sponsorship by any battery company that distributes "Ni MH" batteries, as these are the type that can be recycled safely by most local facilities.  In the absence of sponsorship power might be suppliable by the organizer through rechargeable lithium batteries or a generator.  If this is too expensive, a small fee would have to be charged for the distribution of batteries, and that fee could be waived or reduced for those who bring their own batteries.

BATTERY RECYCLING

Some people will probably come equipped with their own batteries, which would most likely be alkaline because rechargeable C and D batteries are scarcely available on the market.  Alkaline batteries are known to be wasteful and polluting, as billions are sent to landfills each year.  One goal of this event will be to encourage responsible battery use by raising awareness of waste management practices and promoting recycling programs.

If you'd like to participate or help organize this event, or for more information, please contact eugene (dott) romi (att) gmail (dott) com

CAR STORIES LOOKING FOR PLAYERS

Montreal's longest-running theatre experiment is back for the infringement festival.  We are looking for cars, stories (about 10-15 mins) and people who can create and play a bold character.

The show takes place in the streets, alleys, parked cars and bars of Montreal's Urban Wonderland.

For more, please contact carstories@optative.net or visit www.optative.net/carstories
