Chorale du Peuple & Mr. Parker Québec

Chorale du PeupleThe Chorale du Peuple reappropriates pop songs by adding lyrics that are critical of capitalism and the neoliberal agenda. The choir is an offshoot of the Occupy Montreal movement.

Mr Parker Quebec is a 4 piece band that grooves in Portuguese, English and French. Its purpose? Mobilize the 99% with some politically conscious tunes.

Bridges to Dreams

Improvisation being a integral part of the groups identity and performance. Bridges to Dreams strives to create an experience that is both exciting and rich for the audience as for themselves.

Mille Rosado

Originally from Newfoundland, but having grown up on Vancouver Island, Mille was raised in a family of musicians. She was surrounded by many instruments which inspired her to start creating music on her own. As a traveler, she is exploring the musical universe in all its forms, and combines multiple techniques. Moving to Montreal in 2008, she started to play shows in bars and small venues. Her music is a soundtrack to her perception of the world around her and a reflection of her imagination. It is a mix of fairy tales and folk songs which will make your mind wander to a different place for a few moments.

Autoverse

Autoverse, officially formed in August 2008, is a mix of post no-age indie sounds. Hailing from Western New York, their recent release, Decency in Kind, has a science fiction tinge in its look at society’s lack of acceptance, or decency. The desire for escape is not as real as the message though, even in its irony.

Elgin-Skye

Elgin-Skye McLaren lives in Montreal where she writes poems, songs and lilting love letters. Armed with an electric guitar and a looping pedal, she plays lo-fi indie-pop with a style reminiscent of artists such as Regina Spektor, Bjork, and Braids. Elgin-Skye’s politeness and humble disposition betray her booming, buoyant voice. Her songs are thoughtful reflections on love, loss, and woodland creatures. Her sets may include, but are not limited to: clapping, whistling, cooing, singing, stomping.
