A Devil’s Din

Intense & apocalyptic, A Devil’s Din is a polychromatic sound that incorporates fuzzed-out stoner rock riffs, unconventional chord structures, haunting atmospheres and melodic hooks, with a punk heart and a flourish of psychedelic prog. A Devil’s Din is a true musical hybrid for our times.

Anal Pudding

Since 2003, Anal Pudding has been the un-bleachable skid mark in the underpants of Western New York’s tighty-whitey music scene. With their potty-mouth sensibilities, P-Funk stage presence, and sleazy intelligence, Anal Pudding has rocked the living crap out of dozens of the Buffalo region’s hottest live music venues including The Continental, The Showplace Theatre, Mohawk Place, Club Diablo, Town Ballroom, Tudor Lounge, Merlin’s, and the Irish Classical Theatre. Outside of Buffalo, they have been seen in Ann Arbor, MI and NYC’s CBGB’s Lounge. Anal Pudding is also an annual favorite at such regional festivals as Robby Takac’s Music Is Art Festival (2003-2006), the Rhubarb Family Picnic (2004, 2005, 2006), and the Cutting Music Festival (2004, 2005). They have opened for several national acts, including Gogol Bordello, The Human Marvels (featuring Jim Rose Sideshow alumnus The Enigma) and Bozo Porno Circus, and enjoy consistent and popular rotation on Buffalo’s 91.3 WBNY FM.

What makes this bastard child of Frank Zappa and Mr. Hankey so popular? Aside from a stage performance that includes costumes, dancers, and props (including a giant three foot tall smoking commode), Anal Pudding also delivers a unique, catchy sound that makes you want to dance, laugh, think, and even gag a little all at once. Many people love Anal Pudding’s brand of Funk Punk Potty Rock, many more call it “too sick for human consumption,” but one thing is certain – nobody can ignore it. Anal Pudding invades the senses like a first-floor fart on an elevator to the moon.

Clara Engel

Clara Engel is a prolific songwriter and arrestingly original performer, currently based in Montreal. She has independently released seven albums, and has collaborated with musicians and artists from the UK, Brazil, Germany, USA, and Canada. British poet and novelist Jeremy Reed writes, “Clara Engel’s voice comes to me from that deepest of all places, imaginative space, from which she visually retrieves an inner landscape converted by breath into the rock equivalent of poetry. Rarely has a voice sounded so authoritative, so unapologetic in its disclosures, so sure of its direction in going home into song.”

Elgin-Skye

Elgin-Skye

Remember those puffy animal stickers you used to collect as a kid? Elgin-Skye’s songs are like a musical version of those: quirky and colourful. She plays lo-fi acoustic indie-folk with a style reminiscent of artists such as Dan Mangan, and Joanna Newsom. Elgin-Skye’s politeness and humble disposition betray her booming, buoyant voice. Her songs are thoughtful reflections on love, loss, and woodland creatures. Sets may include, but are not limited to: clapping, whistling, cooing, singing, stomping.

Maybe the Welders

Maybe the Welders are a 4 piece Brooklyn based rock band. They released their debut recording, the Hot Shot EP, in 2010. Two guitars, two lead voacalists and a rock solid rhythm section give meat to the bones of the catchy post-punk songs that the band writes and performs. The band have been compared favorably to Talking Heads, the Clash and Blur but have mangaed to carve their own sound from the rich history of rock’n’roll. They have toured throughout the North East U.S. and also in Brazil where they appeared on local radio in Rio de Janeiro and in the local press. This is the bands first time to perform in Canada and they are honored to be here!

Ralf Wiggum

We’re sorry, this page is not yet available in English.

Ryan Sheffield

From Carolina to California and back again, Ryan Sheffield is a man on the move. Currently residing in Asheville, North Carolina, the twenty-five year old singer/songwriter has been cutting his teeth in venues across the country for the past ten years. Fittingly, his brand of indie-pop music finds its own roots in stories of travel, youthful triumph and shortcomings, and the underlying hope that in the end all of us might just be okay. Recently, Sheffield has been involved in a long-distance recording project with Santa Fe musician Bryan Highhill, and the duo (Ryan and the Highhills) released their debut album Head for the Coast in July 2010.

Talk/Sing Skeleton

From the coldest depths of a Montreal winter was forged a band composed of a most varied musical background: Talk/Sing Skeleton! An infant of not even a year old, yet growing in style and assurance, the seven member ensemble brings to the listener a fine blend of folk and gypsy grooves, with lyrics in French and English that are sure to make one ponder the outer reaches of the human psyche, melodies of both a sorrowful and colourful nature, and rhythms to sway slowly or dance without worry to. Simple but complex, organized yet chaotic and at times wonderfully unexpected, Talk/Sing Skeleton looks forward to seeing you on the dance floor at this year’s infringement festival and beyond!
