Excerpts from 3 shows;
Poet Lariat and actorvist Taillefer Cardaci is digging and offering up excerpts from his last 3 political comedy one-man shows, including
“How the west was spun!†an exhilarating spin thru the life’s work of America’s greatest political satirist and cowboy Cherokee trickster extraordinaire Will Rogers’
artfully interweaving monologues packed full of 100% Will Rogers’ classic good humor,
“I got an idea how to stop war. Pass a law in congress that no Country can start a war until they pay for the last one!â€
(Cardaci is the recipient of the Will Rogers
Memorial Award for,  “BEST COMEDY
ROPER OF THE YEAR” Â Â Â )
“Whirled Noose†featuring his unique brand of physical, political, and prop comedy- variety…that takes Will Rogers trickster spirit into the future!
and
THEÂ BUCK WILD WILD WEST SHOW
a one man slap stick political satire variety wild west buffoon burlesque!
He is currently working on a new show with material he has been developing in Montreal over the last three years studying at L’ Ecole du Mime Omnibus and L’ Ecole du Clown et Comedy Francine Cote here in Montreal.

is a video activist, producer and media literacy teacher. He helped create the “Smoke N’ Mirrors” show with Math Boylan and Sandrine Charbonneau. He’s made numerous short documentaries on the subject of advertising, culture jamming and the commodification of the arts and culture. He is also a founding member of the Infringement Festival and has been involved ever since.
is a performance artist born in Western Siberia. Her works explore various ways of resistance against dominating standards for individual body in post-capitalist culture. Tatiana has graduated from the Visual Arts Department of the State University of New York in Buffalo, USA as the Fulbright Program scholarship holder. Currently she is working on her PhD research at the Department of Humanities at Concordia University (Canada), integrating Theater Studies, Studio Art and Communication. She has taken part in numerous international exhibitions and festivals.
In my artistic work, video and performances, I investigate the possibilities of resistance to the dominant corporeal standard. Physical body which absorbed the very materiality of state intervention into biological domain exists in the state of continuous repression, but at the same time it accumulates the potential for the unlimited deconstruction of the established order. The very physicality of the body serves as a perfect background for the subversion of social expectations on corporeal practices. I understand self-adoration, fetishism, self-abuse and other forms of marginalized sensuality as ways to resist socially controlled discourses of pleasure. A game with strictly imposed rules, pleasure, is turned in my pieces into the form of corporeal creativity open to all variations and forms. In general my pieces are meant to reveal the possibility of alternative modes of physical and psychic being in contemporary culture resulted from the state of repression and discontent.
From the coldest depths of a Montreal winter was forged a band composed of a most varied musical background: Talk/Sing Skeleton! An infant of not even a year old, yet growing in style and assurance, the seven member ensemble brings to the listener a fine blend of folk and gypsy grooves, with lyrics in French and English that are sure to make one ponder the outer reaches of the human psyche, melodies of both a sorrowful and colourful nature, and rhythms to sway slowly or dance without worry to. Simple but complex, organized yet chaotic and at times wonderfully unexpected, Talk/Sing Skeleton looks forward to seeing you on the dance floor at this year’s infringement festival and beyond!
Professionnally trained as a classical dancer and also … as a stand up comic, Sandrine Charbonneau truly enjoys to mix all styles of performance.
For this special edition of Smoke and Mirrors, she’s preparing to blow people’s mind with a politickle-burlesque number where she will perform the role of a female soldier getting back in touch with her feminine roots.

Intense & apocalyptic, A Devil’s Din is a polychromatic sound that incorporates fuzzed-out stoner rock riffs, unconventional chord structures, haunting atmospheres and melodic hooks, with a punk heart and a flourish of psychedelic prog. A Devil’s Din is a true musical hybrid for our times.

My images are inspired by a drive to articulate a language that can describe the land of sunken cities dreaming, beyond the veil of daytime reality. I derive my imagery from unconscious embarkations to such shadowy shores of dream from which I try to bring back fragmented narratives that I hopes will resonate with daily anxieties and fears. I like to hide stories, narratives, motifs, people and secrets in my drawings, many of which only I know of.

TRADUCTION N”EST PAS DISPONNIBLE
Since 2003, Anal Pudding has been the un-bleachable skid mark in the underpants of Western New York’s tighty-whitey music scene. With their potty-mouth sensibilities, P-Funk stage presence, and sleazy intelligence, Anal Pudding has rocked the living crap out of dozens of the Buffalo region’s hottest live music venues including The Continental, The Showplace Theatre, Mohawk Place, Club Diablo, Town Ballroom, Tudor Lounge, Merlin’s, and the Irish Classical Theatre. Outside of Buffalo, they have been seen in Ann Arbor, MI and NYC’s CBGB’s Lounge. Anal Pudding is also an annual favorite at such regional festivals as Robby Takac’s Music Is Art Festival (2003-2006), the Rhubarb Family Picnic (2004, 2005, 2006), and the Cutting Music Festival (2004, 2005). They have opened for several national acts, including Gogol Bordello, The Human Marvels (featuring Jim Rose Sideshow alumnus The Enigma) and Bozo Porno Circus, and enjoy consistent and popular rotation on Buffalo’s 91.3 WBNY FM.
What makes this bastard child of Frank Zappa and Mr. Hankey so popular? Aside from a stage performance that includes costumes, dancers, and props (including a giant three foot tall smoking commode), Anal Pudding also delivers a unique, catchy sound that makes you want to dance, laugh, think, and even gag a little all at once. Many people love Anal Pudding’s brand of Funk Punk Potty Rock, many more call it “too sick for human consumption,†but one thing is certain – nobody can ignore it. Anal Pudding invades the senses like a first-floor fart on an elevator to the moon.

 Car Stories

Covering a wildly eclectic background that includes stints at Cirque du Soleil, the Mongrels, Lesbians on Ecstasy and La La La Human Steps, the band blends electric winds, surf guitar, space violin, folky mandolin and Motown bass.

Clara Engel is a prolific songwriter and arrestingly original performer, currently based in Montreal. She has independently released seven albums, and has collaborated with musicians and artists from the UK, Brazil, Germany, USA, and Canada. British poet and novelist Jeremy Reed writes, “Clara Engel’s voice comes to me from that deepest of all places, imaginative space, from which she visually retrieves an inner landscape converted by breath into the rock equivalent of poetry. Rarely has a voice sounded so authoritative, so unapologetic in its disclosures, so sure of its direction in going home into song.”

Remember those puffy animal stickers you used to collect as a kid? Elgin-Skye’s songs are like a musical version of those: quirky and colourful. She plays lo-fi acoustic indie-folk with a style reminiscent of artists such as Dan Mangan, and Joanna Newsom. Elgin-Skye’s politeness and humble disposition betray her booming, buoyant voice. Her songs are thoughtful reflections on love, loss, and woodland creatures. Sets may include, but are not limited to: clapping, whistling, cooing, singing, stomping.

Maybe the Welders are a 4 piece Brooklyn based rock band. They released their debut recording, the Hot Shot EP, in 2010. Two guitars, two lead voacalists and a rock solid rhythm section give meat to the bones of the catchy post-punk songs that the band writes and performs. The band have been compared favorably to Talking Heads, the Clash and Blur but have mangaed to carve their own sound from the rich history of rock’n’roll. They have toured throughout the North East U.S. and also in Brazil where they appeared on local radio in Rio de Janeiro and in the local press. This is the bands first time to perform in Canada and they are honored to be here!

Existing in space and living in it (moving, socializing) is the primal defining attribute of living beings. Â Space, and how we define it, decorate it is defines our society.
Such society today forces us into pre-defined, boxed-in and regulated movements and activities. Hours of operation, property, endless lawns, deforestation, golf courses, shopping malls, curfews, and the basic landscape of city architectures (from buildings to benches) define our territoriality.
Human beings now find ourselves in the awkward position of living where we are not welcome, do not belong; the ‘apartheid’ of polluted environments, unkempt (or overkempt) spaces, commercial dominance, sanitization, devastated spaces and industrial wastelands at once define us and oppress us. Thus, in the we are doing what is natural: Â Having our picnics in awkward spaces! Â Welcome to the infringement picnic area.

From Carolina to California and back again, Ryan Sheffield is a man on the move. Currently residing in Asheville, North Carolina, the twenty-five year old singer/songwriter has been cutting his teeth in venues across the country for the past ten years. Fittingly, his brand of indie-pop music finds its own roots in stories of travel, youthful triumph and shortcomings, and the underlying hope that in the end all of us might just be okay. Recently, Sheffield has been involved in a long-distance recording project with Santa Fe musician Bryan Highhill, and the duo (Ryan and the Highhills) released their debut album Head for the Coast in July 2010.

Short Docs: A Night of Cultural Resistance!
Taking place in the beautiful XPression Gallery, this night of short documentaries features work about the corporate takeover of land and culture and the people who are resisting them! Documentaries include:
“Mines Bases”
“Wal-Mart Culture Jam” (10 mins, 2008)
Theatre activists from Scotland and the UK come to Montreal and transport a live sweatshop into a wal-mart store and set up shot. This guerilla Video will make you scream with laughter as security scramble to control the situation and shoppers look scared and confused.
“Invisible Global Theatre” (12 mins, 2011)
Featuring the infamous “Coppertone Jam” this documentary breaks down Optative Theatrical Laboratorie’s activist tactic of “Global Invisible Theatre”. This 12 minute documentary breaks down all the steps involved in order to complete this action by showing examples of culture jams that OTL has done in the last 10 years. With moments of insight and hilarity, this short will hopefully inspire others to follow in OTL’s footsteps.
“Remembering Bagua” (22min, 2011) is a short documentary film that examines an under-reported violent conflict that arose in Bagua, Peru in June 2009.
Indigenous Awajun and Wampis activists from the Peruvian Amazon protested against new laws created by the Peruvian government that allow international companies to extract oil, gas and minerals from the Amazon without adequately consulting the indigenous people. Violence ensued which left 34 people dead, and over 200 wounded.
This footage was mostly filmed at the Bagua Massacre Memorial, which took place in June 2010 in northern Peru. The filmmakers recorded testimonials related to the causes and aftermath of the tragic Bagua conflict, and focused on bringing forward the voices of local people, who are concerned about environmental devastation and the impact of oil and mining on water quality and local health.

Infringement Art Show
Film is Steph’s first love, but painting comes in at a close second. This collection was produced during those precious moments of tranquility in between the madness known as life.

The Neon Cavalry have been playing since early 2010. They have since played multiple shows around the island of Montreal. They play a quirky alternative rock style with an energetic rhythm section consisting of melodic bass lines, groovy riffs and intense beats with jazzy vocals rounding off their sound.
