ANIQUE GRANGER

Anique Granger delivers her melodies interlaced with touching texts tinted by humour drawn on a canvas of road stories, faces and voyages with disarming musical quality. The soul and the richness of the acoustic instruments meet to create a current sound with delicious originality. With Pépins, Anique Granger offers   a beautiful work, both roots and modern with an extremely refreshing folk esthetic.  www.myspace.com/aniquegranger

IT IS BETTER TO RIDE THE DUNG BEETLE THAN IT IS TO TREAD ON SOFT CARPET

Lucy Hutson (UK)

My performance is is not about re-telling a story but creating an experience which we share together. I wish to explore the intersections where we all collide, where I meet you and where we meet them. This performance is a surreal adventure which involves one woman, one washing line and one pair of used long johns.

Maison de l'amitié, 120 Duluth East, 9:30pm, no cover, voluntary contribution

BENNY BLANCO AND THE INSURGENCY

Combining the elements horn, string and drum this trio summons the collective energy of the human spirit that is too often suppressed and manipulated in the name of greed.  In these times of endless war the only worthwhile option for those in pursuit of finding peace and spreading it is insurgency, and this ensemble seeks to accomplish exactly that with music.

A DEVIL’S DIN

The Apocalypse is coming. Anyone for tea? Don't look now, but there's a camera in your pudding. Better check it for eye lashes. The saints came marching in but were gunned down by operatives disguised as teddy bears. Superman is shooting up in the alley, trying to forget. How long shall they kill our profits while we stand aside and cry to our accountants? We need more coffeeshops. And what about those shoes? That's so last season's slave labor. I want a car that runs on cloned pig's blood and Monsanto corn. How many gigs is your hard drive, baby? It's so boring having to think. Let's go shopping...for body armor. Tell me what to do and I'll pretend to do it. I'm cheating on your idolatry. Oh, I'm so sorry, were you trying to sleep.  www.myspace.com/adevilsdin
